FILES

We offer files in several different abrasive qualities from Coarse to Fine. The lower number amounts to a coarser more abrasive file.

80, 100 & 120 grit files are defined as “coarse” best used for removing & shortening the length of overlays (also very popular for dense toenails, care required).

180 grit files are often defined as “medium” and are great for general work on artificial nails, perfect for shaping and removing overlays, great for roughening surfaces, even imperfections, and texturizing Gels, Acrylics, Tips and Wraps.
& commonly used to efficiently take down length of natural nail (fingers & toes).

240, 280, 320 & 360 grit files are often defined as “fine”. These offer a gentler filing action, great for finishing use on natural nails.

The reinforced centres of “cushioned” files are industry favourites as this makes them less likely to break during use, many prefer the solid less flex feel these provide.

The single use disposable nature of “wooden core / emery” files are popular due to the reduced cost & hygiene benefits.

Often times, it will be necessary to use more than one grit size in a single nail care job. For example, you might want to use a 100 grit file for smoothing down the tip of an artificial nail, but a finer 180 grit file during the blending process. For this reason, many of our files come with a different grit size on each side of the file.

Common popular combinations are the 100/180 and the 120/180 nail files. Not having to switch files mid job, makes these hybrid nail files very convenient.
